これもだいぶ前だが

を読んだ。こと数学の哲学に関する限り、フッサール自体の解釈としてはともかく、フッサールの理論がいったい何をやってることになるのかについては、そのジャーゴンに染まっていない人のほうがクリアに捉えられると思われる。マリオン*1はフッサールの時代の数学の哲学に詳しいし、現象学の可能性には冷淡なだけに参考になることは多い。例えば、以下の二つの文言は数学の哲学一般の議論としてはかなり常識的なものだ。

Husserl's phenomenology should be linked neither with either Hilbert's programme, nor with Brouwerian intuitionism, nor, for that matter, with any constructivist programme. As a constructivist, I am far from being convinced that phenomenology can serve as the basis for a clear and convincing argument in favour of the abandonment of classical mathematics. (p. 131)

I do not defend Husserl's eidetic intuition - on the contrary, I point out that Gödel made more faithful use of Husserl's ideas, and the fact that not much came out of it could be seen as a reductio ad absurdum for Husserl's notion; (pp. 144f.)

と言っても、何の価値もないというわけではないが。というわけで再びメモ書き。

*1:どうでもいいがMarionと聞くと、俺にはJean-Lucよりもずっと先にこっちが念頭に浮かぶのだった。
